Mobile Phone Recycling – January Until Holy WeekWe’ll take any old or unused mobile phones off your hands. A collection box has been made specifically for this purpose and placed in the school foyer. What to do next? Bring the phone/s to the school in a clear plastic bag (sandwich bag will do) with a sticker showing your child’s name. PLEASE REMOVE THE SIM CARD AND ANY PERSONAL DETAILS FROM THE PHONE BEFORE DOING SO! Your child will be allocated a raffle ticket for each phone donated. These raffle tickets will be kept safe in school until Holy Week. The owner of the winning raffle ticket will receive a PAY-AS-YOU-GO mobile phone. Smaller prizes may be given away but will depend on the volume of mobile phones collected. A specialist organisation will collect all phones and recycle them – so you’ll be doing your bit for the environment too. If you have missed this terms collection please keep them safe and we will take them off your hands next Spring Term. We hope to link up with a recycling company which will allow you send them in freepost if you have missed the collection - we will keep you updated when this is arranged. Back to top
Bring & Buy Sale of Unwanted GiftsAt Christmas and Easter we will run Bring and Buy Sales. Flush out all those unwanted or unused gifts from your cupboards and put them to good use. For the Christmas Bring and Buy the children come into the hall to buy their Christmas presents for you or members of their families, children write the gift tags and chose the paper for the volunteers wrap the presents in. The Easter Bring and Buy we’ll be organising the sale to take place during Holy Week. More details to be added soon
Printer CartridgesWe'll Take your old printer cartridges off your hands each summer term. Save them for the summer term. What to do next? Bring the cartridges to the school in a sealed in a plastic bag. (This prevents them leaking all over the place.) Put them in the collection box that is in the foyer. A specialist organisation will collect and recycle them. Printer cartridges collected by you will be refilled and put back into the consumer cycle as an environmentally friendly option. Cartridges that can not be refilled are sent to another company to breakdown and recycle.
