Mobile Phone Recycling – Now Until Holy Weekby Esther 21/01/09We’ll take any old or unused mobile phones off your hands. A collection box has been made specifically for this purpose and placed in the school foyer. What to do next? Bring the phone/s to the school in a clear plastic bag (sandwich bag will do) with a sticker showing your child’s name. PLEASE REMOVE THE SIM CARD AND ANY PERSONAL DETAILS FROM THE PHONE BEFORE DOING SO! Your child will be allocated a raffle ticket for each phone donated. These raffle tickets will be kept safe in school until Holy Week. The owner of the winning raffle ticket will receive a PAY-AS-YOU-GO mobile phone. Smaller prizes may be given away but will depend on the volume of mobile phones collected. A specialist organisation will collect all phones and recycle them – so you’ll be doing your bit for the environment too. Back to top
St Helen’s Tea Towels
by Esther 21/01/09We had a total of 600 tea towels printed, 300 of each group: 1) Early Years and KS1; 2) KS2. Children drew their own head/shoulder portraits (some staff members included) and these were then printed on white fabric in St Helen’s red. We initially had 150 of each printed off over the half term holidays, but they were selling so well during November that we had to place a repeat order. We have sold most to date, although there are still some left over. So if you haven’t got yours yet or are scratching around for an endearing idea for a gift for a family member or close friend, why not give them a St Helen’s tea towel. They cost £3.00 each or £5.00 for 2. Call into the school with your request.
Christmas Disco - 11th December 2008by Esther 21/01/09We had one disco for the early years and infants, followed by the juniors disco with half an hour break in between. We charged £1 for admission which included a raffle ticket for a giant teddy bear prize and a hot dog/veggie burger in a roll. The tuck shop was a roaring success – we had to nip out in between discos to get more supplies of sweets, crisps and ice cream as we had practically sold out!
Back to topChristmas T-Lightsby Esther 21/01/09We collected in empty and clean baby food, small condiments and jam bottles, decorated these together with the children using festive materials, placed a tea-light in them and then sold them during the last week of the autumn term. It was a sell-out!
Toiletries Christmas Bring & Buyby Esther 21/01/09During October and November we gathered in any unwanted/unused or donated as new toiletries, gift-wrapped them and sold these to the children at the end of term to give as Christmas presents to their parents. We managed to raise over £200! Let’s hope no one received back the gift they wanted to get rid of! We won’t be accepting any liability but you're welcome to send them back in for the next Bring and Buy. Thanks! The Christmas Bring and Buy was hard work, but loads of fun and well worthwhile. We say a hearty thank you and congratulations to all the volunteers, donors and shoppers who made the Christmas one such a success.

Christmas Tree of Toysby Esther 21/01/09
We had a very special Toy Tree donated to us which arrived in the school on 1st December. It was a Christmas Tree decorated with fairy lights and 40 toys. We sold raffle tickets and used the toys as raffle prizes. Some of the toys were very huggable and cuddly.
