Our TargetsThe Totaliser TreeVery clever, artistic and skilled members of the committee designed and created a wooden tree totaliser – see picture opposite. We think it’s fabulous. It is displayed in the school foyer so that everyone could have a visual idea of how well our fundraising efforts were doing.
Spring Term 2008New Classroom EquipmentThe £500 balance raised from Autumn Term 2008 events is being used to purchase for each class a new CD/radio player or TV/DVD combo set. The last ones were donated by the Friends over 7 years ago and are now nearing the end of their useful life (some classes have to borrow stereos from others because they no longer function). We will also purchase two new A3 laminators for the Resource Room in the school. Back to top
Autumn Term 2008Storyteller’s ChairOur first target of the new school year 2008/09 was to raise £1,200 to pay for an ornately carved wooden storyteller’s chair, hand-carved by a local craftsman using locally available and environmentally renewable materials and applying woodland (mini beast) designs created by the children themselves. This target was reached and impressively exceeded at the end of the first term. We raised a total of £1,700 by means of a variety of fund-raising events and ideas. These included raffles, sale of Early Years Presentation CD, Christmas disco, sale of St Helen’s tea towels printed with self-portraits of the children, toiletries bring and buy, sale of tea-light holders decorated by the children during their Christmas workshops.
