Other Closures
If the school is required to close due to industrial action or similar a
letter will be sent home with your child.
St Helen's Primary enjoys 'Healthy School' Status. All children are
encouraged to take advantage of a daily cooked school meal. However, many
children prefer packed lunch. In this case the school urges parents to ensure
the children receive a 'balanced diet'. During the lunch hour, pupils are
frequently engaged in clubs and supervised activities both inside and out.
In the case of inclement weather children are supervised indoors and in some
cases may have access to TV and video entertainment as well as being offered
reading materials. Children may bring a snack into school but this has to
be in the form of fruit. Water fountains are freely accessible.
School Dinners are priced by CCBC. Dinner money should be sent in on Monday,
cheques made payable to CCBC. If your child was absent on Monday please
send monies in on the following Monday. (please put your child's details on the
back including days the meal is for i.e. Ann Name Yr 1 4/2/09
If the school was closed and you have paid for a meal, please send in less
the following week.
